There haven't been any jokes about windy Jim Ireton, but someone's bound to make one soon. Mr. Ireton is the chatty general manager and co-owner of Rideau Home Hardware Building Centre in Smiths Falls, where a new Skystream 3.7 windmill is shunting electricity to the store faster than you can say kilowatts.

Ontario wind farm generates positive spin

PORT BURWELL, Ont. - With 66 turbines now and plans for another 18, Ontario's $200 million Erie Shores Wind Farm could be a sign of things to come for the Great Lakes region. Located on the outskirts of a tiny fishing village called Port Burwell, the 99-megawatt wind farm is actually a collection of dedicated easements from traditional agricultural farms across a 19-mile region.

Texas Blows by California to Lead in Wind Power

Once home to America's largest oncentration of pump-jacks and oil derricks, Texas is now the best region
in the country to install wind turbines. According to a new report by the lobal Wind Energy Council, at 4,356-megawatts (MW), the Lone Star State
has nearly twice the wind power capacity of nearest rival California (2,439 MW).
